COVID-19 Status Update for 09/07/2021

Marin County COVID-19 Status Update for September 7, 2021 includes New School Status Dashboard; Vaccination Opportunities in Marin; and updated local COVID-19 data.

The Marin County COVID-19 Status Update is published weekdays and as needed to share important news and resources related to the COVID-19 pandemic and to keep the local economy running. We remain here for you.  

 

New School Status Dashboard 

An updated schools dashboard was unveiled on Friday, and differentiates between schools that have fully reopened to in-person instruction, schools that are closed for operation reasons (power outage, etc.), and schools which are closed due to an outbreak. 

Icons on the map represent elementary, middle and high schools, including public, private, independent and parochial schools. Clicking on an icon reveals the school's name, district, type, and reopening status.  

 

The dashboard is located on the Marin Health and Human Services Schools page. Here parents, students, and members of the community may find useful information such as recent Marin County News Releases involving schools and resources such as: 

 

Vaccination Opportunities in Marin 

There are many free COVID-19 vaccination opportunities in Marin County for those who haven’t yet completed their vaccination series. Some locations require an online appointment; others are open for walk-ups.   

The following one-day pop-up clinics are open to anyone age 12 & older:    

  • Tuesday, September 7 – Coastal Health Alliance, Pt. Reyes 
  • Tuesday, September 7 – Downtown Novato Farmers’ Market, Novato 
  • Wednesday, September 8 – Firehouse Subs, Novato 
  • Wednesday, September 8 – Grocery Outlet, San Rafael 
  • Thursday, September 9 – San Geronimo Food Pantry, San Geronimo 
  • Thursday, September 9 – Dining Under the Lights, San Rafael 
  • Friday, September 10 – Nave Shopping Center, Novato 

Visit our Vaccine Finder page for more dates. In addition to Marin County Public Health–hosted sites, many local pharmacies like CVSWalgreensRiteAid, and others offer same-day vaccine appointments.
