VIDEO: Update to the Board of Supervisors
Dr. Lisa Santora provided a brief update to the Board of Supervisors regarding the status of Marin County Public Health’s COVID-19 response. In her report, she reviewed current trends of COVID-19 cases and hospitalizations, plans for the rollout of COVID-19 booster vaccines, the future of pediatric vaccines, the status of schools and response protocols. The video includes a Q&A with the Board of Supervisors.

Farewell to Two COVID-19 Pop-Up Vaccination Clinics
There are two recurring events that take place in Marin each year which serve as an indicator that the summer season has arrived: The Downtown Novato Farmer’s Market and Dining Under the Lights in San Rafael. Marin County Public Health mobilized two free pop-up COVID-19 vaccination clinics at each respective location this past summer in an effort to make vaccines against the virus easily available for members of our community. Now that summer is drawing to a close, both clinics will be ending their operations.
Today, September 14th marks the final day of operation for our clinic at the Downtown Novato Farmers’ Market, and Thursday, September 16th will be the last pop-up clinic at the event Dining Under the Lights in San Rafael.
Some details about both clinics:
- The Dining Under the Lights clinic began administering vaccines on May 20th, 2021. To date, the clinic has provided approximately 750 vaccines. This Thursday will be the 16th time it has appeared at Dining Under the Lights. This week’s final pop-up will be open from 4:30pm-7:15pm.
- The Downtown Novato Farmers’ Market clinic started administering vaccines on June 10th, 2021. Prior to today’s event, it had given out over 500 hundred doses since its inception and today will be its 11th week at the market. Vaccines will be available today at 4:00pm until 7:15pm.
Last week, the San Rafael Downtown Business Improvement District (BID) featured our clinic at Dining Under the Lights in a promotional video.

We are sad to bid farewell to these two pop-up clinics but happy about their positive reception by the cities of Novato and San Rafael. If you are looking to get vaccinated but unable to attend either site, then visit our Vaccine Finder page for more COVID-19 vaccine clinic information.
