The Marin County COVID-19 Status Update is published weekdays and as needed to share important news and resources related to the COVID-19 pandemic and to keep the local economy running. We remain here for you.

One year into our vaccination campaign, Dr. Matt Willis reflects on the benefit the COVID-19 vaccine has offered us and how it and a booster dose will be a critical tool as we face Omicron.
Vaccine Opportunities in Marin
Thanks to our partnership with Safeway, Marin County Public Health has been able to add thousands of COVID-19 appointments at our free vaccination clinics between now and the New Year. If you are looking for a booster dose, third dose, pediatric vaccine for your child, or to complete an initial vaccination series, there are options available.
Vaccine options in our community include:
- Your medical provider, doctor or family physician
- Local retail pharmacies
Upcoming vaccine clinics with open appointments for those ages 12 and older are listed below:
- Kerner Clinic
San Rafael – Saturday, December 18 - Novato High School
Novato - Sunday, December 19 - Northgate Mall
San Rafael – December 21, 22 & 23
Upcoming pediatric vaccine clinics (ages 5 to 11) with open appointments are listed below:
- Kerner Clinic
San Rafael – Saturday, December 18 - Northgate Mall
San Rafael – Wednesday, December 21
Note: All vaccine clinics will be closed December 24, 25, 31 and January 1.
Please be aware that demand has been very high for COVID-19 vaccine appointments, so we highly recommend reserving yours as soon as possible. Visit our Vaccine Finder page to find out what clinics have appointments available and to schedule your appointment. Recipients between the ages of 5 to 17 must be accompanied by a parent or guardian to receive a vaccine. We wish you a very happy holiday and thank you for doing your part to help keep our community safe.
